Origami Am I

A poet lives to unfold the many
pleats around the heart and
rearrange them so
legs become blades of grass,
wings look like peach blossoms.

The reader takes,
from this strange formation,
the poet’s gift and opens it up by
the wrapping, also its very
essence, to find

the pearl of
the heart
inside.

(Inspired by O at the Edges.)
