Movement

A movement of water
resembles a movement

of a symphony in that—
when the music or

water swells—a direction
must be taken. This will

be spatial for water
(up, downstream)

acoustic for music
(louder, brassier).

Then it falls upon the
conductor to determine

how long this new
direction will serve

the ambient need
until the time when

“lesser” or “quieter”
sounds right to the ear.
